Heh, today's trek was a relatively good one. Just some updates, we've shortlisted eight boys - out of which five will be selected for the actual expedition. The camaraderie fostered between the boys and us has blossomed, and we’re looking forward to training again with them this Friday!

Training with the boys reminded me how important the simple gesture of extending a hand of friendship can do to break the ice between strangers. It has been fulfilling to see the boys opening up more willingly over the past weeks– a sign that they feel more at ease with us. As for ourselves, besides being good friends with the boys, perhaps we also need to focus on being positive role models and hopefully, trustworthy confidantes. (:
